VINNY, December 2007 - November 18, 2020 cam

Our daughter brought Vinny home to us in February of 2008.  A Maltese / miniature Poodle mix, he was such a tiny little thing, solid white with big, dark eyes and little black pads dotting his otherwise tiny feet.  His coat was silky smooth, just a little bundle of curls.

Vinny made it clear he wanted to be with us. He immediately imposed himself into our lives and was with us constantly.  Whether at home or away, traveling, inside or outside, asleep or awake Vinny was always with us. Vinny also immediately loved our older Boston Terrier, Maggie, and she loved him.  We really believe she thought Vinny was her pup. They were quite the pair.

Vinny had such a strong, independent, and mischievous personality, and a huge heart. He loved attention and usually got it, whether at home, visiting others, the groomer or the vet’s office.  Everyone recognized and knew Vinny. He was such an energetic and courageous little dog. At the most he weighed sixteen pounds, but he thought he was a giant. He loved to go into the backyard, barking at the neighbors dogs or the horses in the back pasture.  We always wondered what he would do if he could get to them. I suspect, after acting so ferocious, he would make friends and play.

Vinny lived his life his way, and he crammed twenty years worth of living into his thirteen years. We learned so much from him. In his last months, before we knew he was so sick, he never changed.  Unconditional love, and excitement for life every minute. He truly was a giant, and he taught us so much. We somehow feel, in many ways, he knew more about life than we did. That is what good dogs do, and Vinny was one of the best. His little spirit touched, and continues to touch us every day.

We love and miss you Vinny, our “little man.”  God keep you until we see you again.
