Vargus, 05/11/84-11/18/96

Dear Vargus,
You have become an icon of peacefulness and serenity. Thinking of you, I am overcome with a tremendous calmness. I miss you enormously. I know that our souls will dance together until the day we cross that bridge together, even after.
Meanwhile, play happily with Pepe and Tiger and always remember I love you.

Victor, 01/26/76-02/06/97

Our graceful black beauty who walked into our lives unexpectedly twenty years ago, left this earth to spread his love and grace with others. We are thankful for the twenty years that you were given to us. He was not just a cat , but part of our family. His memory will live in our hearts forever and NOONE will ever compare or take the place of our Victor. We think of you every day and wish you were still here to share your wisdom with all of us. We miss and love you the best, beetu.

Your family, Mom, Dad, Chantal, Nicole, Mippy, your little brother Jerome, and sister Chelsea.

Saying Goodbye

We stand on the hillside, Victor and I
Silently watching the empty sky.
He looks up, alert to some distant sound,
Then lowers his once proud head to the ground.

I stand beside him, longing to be
Galloping, galloping, strong and free,
Feeling again his ground-eating stride,
Sensing beneath me his Morgan pride.

He nickers and nuzzles against me,
His warm brown eyes staring softly.
I stroke his neck and try not to cry.
It's hard to tell my friend goodbye.

I know we'll never ride again
For only drugs can limit his pain,
But in my mind we'll always be
Galloping, galloping, wild and free.

We stand on the hillside, Victor and I
Silently watching the empty sky.
I stroke his neck and try not to cry,
For today I tell my friend goodbye.

Victoria, 4/1/86-9/7/96

Victoria was picked up by the Humane League when she was just weeks old because her breeder put her out on the streets since she wasn't perfect in their eyes. She was more than perfect in my eyes. She was exceptionally intelligent and learned quickly. If you told her not to do something, she never did it again. Eloctronics were her specialty. She could figure out which buttons did what loved pushing them. Made for very interesting wake-up time on my clock radio! She knew when we weren't feeling well or were sad about something. She could make us feel better or get us to laugh at something she did that was silly. I was very lucky to have known her even if it was just for 10 short years. Until we are together again, I love and miss you every day of my life.

Violet, 12/25/96

My beloved Violet was my best companion. She taught me unconditional love. Giving was the same as receiving when it came to giving her love. I could never tell her enough how much I love her in as many different ways as I could. I could never give her enough love. I loved being close to her. I will always feel close to her. I would always tell her that she lives in my heart and soul forever. I have prayed for Violet often and will continue to do so for the rest of my life. I tell God that if I am granted only one prayer in my life that prayer is for Violet. Tears are running down my face as I write this. For the past year I had seen one tumor beneath her grow and grow in size and then a few months ago another one began to grow. It was on last Christmas day that I had first noticed a small growth beneath her and on this Christmas she is gone. It is as if she wanted to stay one more Christmas with me. It was a terrible year watching helplessly as those tumors grew and grew so large. I was advised to have her put to sleep a few months ago but I was too weak to do so. I couldn't let go of her. I hope she forgives me for my weakness. Now she is finally at peace and I truly believe that a human's love brings immortality to a beloved pet. Violet has taught me many things and has brought me closer to my creator. Violet has brought out the very best in me. I only wish I could have given her as much as she has given me. There is no sadder or more painful regret in my opinion then the regret of wanting to have given more time and love to a beloved pet that is now gone. When it comes to love one can never give enough. I wish I could start at the beginning again with Violet. I wish I could be giving her love right now.

Virginia,

Virginia was a very special cat. Our kids rescued her from being "put to sleep" when she was very young. She was a wild one, our Virginia - the first 3 years we had her, she lived in the garage. Finally we "thought" we had tamed her, but after moving her to our Lake house, she decided that she should be at "home".

We found her on Hwy 71 - 18 miles from the Lake, and 7 miles from home...she had been hit by a car. Her body was intact and her fur as soft as ever.

We will love her forever.
